Happy Elizabeth Peratrovitch Day!

Elizabeth Peratrovitch was an Alaska Native activist who fought to end segregation laws in Alaska. She and her husband, Roy, were members of the ANB and ANS (Alaska Native Brotherhood and Sisterhood), and were later both presidents of the sisterhood and brotherhood. They worked to have a law passed that ended segregation of Native Alaskans and it eventually passed. It was the first anti discrimination/segregation law to be passed in the US ever in the 1940s.
