Bodies... likes, dislikes, and oddities

I thought we needed a discussion like this and couldn't find one Post away about what you like (or love), dislike (or hate) or just find plain interesting about your body!

You need to be a member of NMG Members to add comments!

  • Oddity: I have insanely strong and flexible toes. I can pick things up off the floor with my toes. I can carry dog bowls made of metal with two toes. It's very strange. I also have double-jointed thumbs, so I can jut my knuckles out.
  • Likes: my hair, my eyes, my nose
    Dislikes: my legs, my acne
Oddities: my freckles (in a good way), my ears
  • Likes: my hair, my face
dislikes: my calfs, hands, teeth, nose, chin
    oddities: ears, eyes, my feet
  • likes: my lips, my hips (except when i try to cosplay young boys), my eyes
dislikes: my eyebrows, my chin, and my lordosis
Oddities: I can't push my fingers back! For someone whos been playing piano over half their life, my hands aren't that cooperative.
  • Likes: Hair (sometimes), lips, most of body, eyes, shoulders
Dislikes: Nose, oval shaped head, feet (flat and painful), back (long torso, very curved in back so it hurts when I stand up for a while)
Oddities: freckle on each cheek that are similar shape and size and in a similar loction
  • I absolutely love my hair, even though it feels like an afro at the end of a day (can anyone relate?) I really dislike how my body is overweight, even though I eat healthy and exercise often. I want all of it to disappear, but I can do nothing about it. The odd thing about me is that I have two freckles on my shoulder that look like they are on a line, exept only the endpoints are there, and the line itself is gone.
  • I like my eyes and my hair
I dislike my eyebrows because they are brown but my hair is blond and therefore they stand out on my face too much and look bigger than they are and I think it makes me look ugly
  • I have really pretty eyes.
My hair either looks fantastic and kickbutt or completely terrible.
  • Likes: well, I like my ears?
Dislikes: I think I’m way to thin, and my hair looks like straw.
Oddities: I can cross my toes.
  • Um, hm...
Likes: My ears are kind of pointed? And I think that's sorta cute?
Dislikes: My face I guess is the biggest issue I have.
Oddities: My left eyebrow sort of goes up, unlike my right one. I like to think it's because I'm part Vulcan haha. (That's why I like the ear thing too lol.)

Staying Friends With Long Time Friends

I have this friend who's not on NMG who would probably like it if I called her Carolyn (that's not her real name). We met in kindergarten and call ourselves best friends, but we don't seem to have as many similar interests nowadays. I don't have many other friends, so she's really important to me. Do you know how we can stay good friends?-Jade     It's great that you have a friendship that's lasted that long. Even if you don't have many shared interests anymore you can still enjoy each other's…

Online Schoolwork Help

When I’m doing online schoolwork, it’s really easy to get off task. How can I keep myself from procrastinating?     —Anonymous  Hi! Procrastination and distraction are both things I’ve struggled with in the past, so speaking as someone who’s been homeschooled my whole life (not just since COVID!), and has *mostly* conquered these issues, I’ll do my best to help! First, prioritizing. There is only so much time in the day, so we need to figure out what are the most important things to do in that…

Staying Committed to a Story

I find it really hard to keep motivated while writing. I often am really excited about a story I start writing, but after a couple paragraphs I lose motivation and never continue the story. Any advice? -Anonymous I completely understand this! I am currently in the process of trying to stick to the longest story I’ve ever attempted. In the past, I’ve stuck to poetry and short stories for this very reason, but I’m trying to push myself with this project during quarantine! Here are a few tips…

Getting Through Quarantine Without Seeing Friends

How do I get through the corona quarantine without seeing my friends? -Sophia   Ah, the question of the season! I’m really glad you asked this, Sophia, because it’s a very important topic that so many of us are struggling with right now.  First, I would like to direct you to a blog post about staying connected in quarantine that one of my awesome fellow S2S mentors, Paige, wrote just a few days ago! She already did a great job on this topic, so this won’t be a super detailed answer, but you…

Ask A Girl: Need advice? Give great advice? We help each other! Ask your questions or answer any of the questions already here. Your post will appear in a day or two, so check back often. We've had many girls ask if their questions can be anonymous, and that is not possible on this website. We want you to know that girls in NMG can trust each other, even with embarrassing questions. And if you want to, you can change your user name to a "not real" name that will then also be used in the magazine if your Ask A Girl question is published.

Letters To Luna: I'm Luna, the spirit of New Moon. Write a letter to me with your opinions and suggestions about the magazine and website. I love to read all your notes! Because I get so many letters, I can't reply online. But a select few letters get published in each issue!

Body & Feelings: Body image, mood swings, puberty, your first period, and so much more! The information girls need!

Check It Out: Share your rants and raves about books, magazines, movies, products, music, ads, tv, internet and more. Love it? Hate it? Let us know!

For The Curious: How does stuff in our world happen? Post and ask about experiments, tech, coding, math,  science, engineering, and more!  It's all about the weird, wonderful, and wacky! Be curious and be surprised.

Go Girls & Women Change the World: Amazing girls and women make the world a better place every day. Tell us about who you admire - now and from the past.  These don't have to be people who are already famous!

How Aggravating & Howl at the Moon: Tell us when you see something that's unfair to girls and women -you can vent about it here! And, Howl out your accomplishments and the things that make you proud as a person and a girl!

Love Remembers: Whether it's losing a beloved pet or a cherished person, loss is painful and can be difficult to cope with. But talking about our loved ones and keeping their memories alive can help. Share your beautiful memories here.

Random Stuff: Want a place to be silly, start message board games, or talk about stuff that doesn't fit into the other categories? Then check out this message board!

Role Play: Do you like role playing games? RPG’s are games where players (that’s you!) play the roles of characters in a fictional setting and have all kinds of adventures. See where the stories take you!

Voice Box: We can have different opinions and still be friends and listen respectfully to each other. We're interested to learn about other people's points of view and we don't have to try to convince them to think like we do. This is where we share opinions about issues that are important to us.

Contests & Games: Do you love creating new contests or games for everyone to play? Do you love playing in them? This is the place for you to make your own contests and games and invite everyone to participate! Remember, just like everywhere else on NMGMembers.com, if you make a contest or game, it must be open to everyone who wants to join in!
