The knitters unite!

and crocheting. and sewing. and weaving. and i'm pretty sure you are getting bored of all the things I love. xDDD

You should not be laughing at your own joke Anwen!

Anyway (I got sidetracted :P) (Did I spell that right) I thought I should make a board for this where knitters/crocheters can exchange patterns, give tips, help people, and teach the world how to knit.

If you knit, Welcome! It's so nice to have people availible who can help tell you what a perl stitch is. (we're here for you)

If you crochet, Welcome! I crochet too, and am equally obsssed with it.

If you don't knit, welcome! Glad to have you here! Feel free to post anything you want on this board. This isn't a "exclusive" club for just knitters.

If you don't have a clue what knitting is, Welcome! This is the board to find what people do with those two sticks and string.

But still, you should knit.

it is fun

yep. so yeah

(i was really bored)

  • I learned to cast on and knit today!!!
I cast on 20 stitches and then did an entire row. I’m very proud of myself.
    • NICE!!!!!! That is definitely something to be proud of. :3
  • I learned how to knit when I was 8, then I didn't knit for a while and I forgot how! Then a friend retaught me. XD
    • That happened to me too xD

Actually it's happened a lot XDDD
  • I love to knit! (And crochet, and sew.)

Right now I'm knitting a Ravenclaw scarf.
    • That is really impressive!
    • That's amazing! I'm a Hufflepuff.
      • me to!
  • I'm going to learn knitting and stuff about fabric arts next week! (My class was offered two electives on Fridays for the last quarter: Drawing out of school, which we'd all taken for the past quarter, or Crafting and Fabric Arts at school, which three people switched to. I originally stayed in Drawing, but I was sick of all the noise and the bus ride was uncomfortable and I wanted some quiet creative time so I managed to switch to Crafting. I'm really excited to learn stuff!)
also I've infrequently and intermittently done latch hooking (and I mean infrequently, about three separate times on the same project over five years or so :P) does that count
    • Yes it does count! xD
I hope you have a lot of fun!

Online Schoolwork Help

When I’m doing online schoolwork, it’s really easy to get off task. How can I keep myself from procrastinating?     —Anonymous  Hi! Procrastination and distraction are both things I’ve struggled with in the past, so speaking as someone who’s been homeschooled my whole life (not just since COVID!), and has *mostly* conquered these issues, I’ll do my best to help! First, prioritizing. There is only so much time in the day, so we need to figure out what are the most important things to do in that…

Staying Committed to a Story

I find it really hard to keep motivated while writing. I often am really excited about a story I start writing, but after a couple paragraphs I lose motivation and never continue the story. Any advice? -Anonymous I completely understand this! I am currently in the process of trying to stick to the longest story I’ve ever attempted. In the past, I’ve stuck to poetry and short stories for this very reason, but I’m trying to push myself with this project during quarantine! Here are a few tips…

Getting Through Quarantine Without Seeing Friends

How do I get through the corona quarantine without seeing my friends? -Sophia   Ah, the question of the season! I’m really glad you asked this, Sophia, because it’s a very important topic that so many of us are struggling with right now.  First, I would like to direct you to a blog post about staying connected in quarantine that one of my awesome fellow S2S mentors, Paige, wrote just a few days ago! She already did a great job on this topic, so this won’t be a super detailed answer, but you…

Crushes & Coming Out!

So I was wondering how to give a letter to your crush. even though they already know it's you. And how would you tell someone that you are now Bisexual? and they have known you to be Straight? -Anonymous Hi there!  It's completely understandable that you might want to talk about some of these things or take some of these actions! Please know that these are all very personal things and that you ultimately get to make the decision on what you'd like to do! It's not up to me, your friends,…

Ask A Girl: Need advice? Give great advice? We help each other! Ask your questions or answer any of the questions already here. Your post will appear in a day or two, so check back often. We've had many girls ask if their questions can be anonymous, and that is not possible on this website. We want you to know that girls in NMG can trust each other, even with embarrassing questions. And if you want to, you can change your user name to a "not real" name that will then also be used in the magazine if your Ask A Girl question is published.

Letters To Luna: I'm Luna, the spirit of New Moon. Write a letter to me with your opinions and suggestions about the magazine and website. I love to read all your notes! Because I get so many letters, I can't reply online. But a select few letters get published in each issue!

Body & Feelings: Body image, mood swings, puberty, your first period, and so much more! The information girls need!

Check It Out: Share your rants and raves about books, magazines, movies, products, music, ads, tv, internet and more. Love it? Hate it? Let us know!

For The Curious: How does stuff in our world happen? Post and ask about experiments, tech, coding, math,  science, engineering, and more!  It's all about the weird, wonderful, and wacky! Be curious and be surprised.

Go Girls & Women Change the World: Amazing girls and women make the world a better place every day. Tell us about who you admire - now and from the past.  These don't have to be people who are already famous!

How Aggravating & Howl at the Moon: Tell us when you see something that's unfair to girls and women -you can vent about it here! And, Howl out your accomplishments and the things that make you proud as a person and a girl!

Love Remembers: Whether it's losing a beloved pet or a cherished person, loss is painful and can be difficult to cope with. But talking about our loved ones and keeping their memories alive can help. Share your beautiful memories here.

Random Stuff: Want a place to be silly, start message board games, or talk about stuff that doesn't fit into the other categories? Then check out this message board!

Role Play: Do you like role playing games? RPG’s are games where players (that’s you!) play the roles of characters in a fictional setting and have all kinds of adventures. See where the stories take you!

Voice Box: We can have different opinions and still be friends and listen respectfully to each other. We're interested to learn about other people's points of view and we don't have to try to convince them to think like we do. This is where we share opinions about issues that are important to us.

Contests & Games: Do you love creating new contests or games for everyone to play? Do you love playing in them? This is the place for you to make your own contests and games and invite everyone to participate! Remember, just like everywhere else on, if you make a contest or game, it must be open to everyone who wants to join in!
