I'm not sure if this board has already been created, but this topic has been really bugging me. There are so many women and girls across the globe who face period poverty and can't afford the products they need to cope with their periods. I have heard of many girls skipping school and women skipping work because they are ashamed and can't afford pads or tampons when they have their periods.
This is a topic that is not discussed and addressed enough. I feel that our society teaches women to be ashamed of their periods and it often makes them feel more powerless. Even the homeless shelters don't include feminine hygeine items on their wish lists, though it's something I am sure is needed.
I want to help this issue by somehow donating these period products so that they can reach women who need it. Women don't need to be ashamed of having their periods, and I feel strongly about this topic.
