You are one of the dancers in Jazlyn’s Dance Academy, a prestigious boarding school and dance academy for girls. It has multiple age groups: 2-4 (not boarding), 4-6 (not boarding), 6-8 (not boarding), 8-10 (optional boarding), 10-14 (boarding), 14-16 (boarding), 16-18 (boarding), after that you can go to Jazlyn Collage for Dancers, if you  wish. You are in the 10-14 age group, and also serve as a helper for one of the younger groups. Sundays can be visiting days, if your family wants to come, or you can hang around campus. During free time you can sign up for private lessons, practice in the dance studio, or just hang out. Once everyone fills out their forms I will asign everyone a dorm mate, and if theres an uneven amount then one can have three.

  • Emmi: Lunch is over, and I'm back in my room. Suddenly, I hear a scratching at my door. I open it, and a streak of orange zooms in and jumps on my bed. "Gah!" It's a poofy cat. It's love at first sight. "I'm going to call you pumpkin."
    • Pets for all!!!!
  • Luna: "I know! Awnt wo te beft wittwe hamfter im ba wowd yes you are yes you are!" I say in a baby voice as I rub Pluto on my cheek and then put him in my bed where he promptly curls up and falls asleep. "AWWWWWWW!" I say as he curls up
  • Libby: "awwww he's adorable!!"
  • Luna: "I usually get up around five thirty but if I'm not up by six wake me, I do not want to miss breakfast!" We get to our room and I show Pluto to Libby he is a black hamster with a white butt and nose "Isn't he cute?" I say as I lift him up
  • Emma: I head back to my dorm and plop on my bed and start journaling.
  • Libby: “sure hamsters are cute. Well that’s good I don’t either. Also what time do you get up in the mornings? The recommend time is 6-630. I’m an early riser so I’ll be up at five”
  • Emersyn: I got here really late last night because I had my last competition with my other dance school. It was fun there but my Mom wanted to send me here because it’s better or something. In my dorm it looks like my roommate decorated but they’re no where to be found. I walk into lunch late because I accidentally slept in. I grab a burger and stare at it disgustingly, it’s smushed, the bun is wet and there is oil dripping down the side. I see a bunch of girls laughing together at a table. Should I sit with them? Or not? Might as well play it safe here, first year, and it looks like I could be the youngest in my age group. So I take a seat at an empty table a couple of tables away from where the girls are sitting.
  • Luna: "I'll head back with you you can meet my hamster Pluto if you want and no I don't snore, at least I think I don't my family can sleep through anything." I say following Libby back to our dorm.
  • Libby: “I dunno they all just kind of left. Anyway I’m going to start heading back to our room I want to wake up at 5 tomorrow to stretch and meditate. You don’t snore do you?” I say pushing my chair back

Speaking Before Thinking

I tend to snap at people a lot even when I'm not feeling angry and I don't know why and I want some advice on how to stop snapping so often. -Anonymous      I’m sorry that you’re struggling with this; it’s really difficult when emotions start bubbling over and a line is accidentally crossed, especially when it’s toward a loved one. I can certainly relate to this; when I get overwhelmed, stressed, and anxious, I do have a tendency to be a little cold and, sometimes, rude to the people I love.…

Help with Making Friends

My mom says that I need to put myself out there more and be more social, but I really struggle with, say, just going up to the other kids in a class or program and talking, or making friends. Any tips for being more social? -Anonymous      I myself have had a lot of trouble making friends, speaking out, and being social throughout my life. I’ve always been quite shy, and especially when I was younger, I worried that I’d never be able to make good friends. Now I’m seventeen, I have a small group…

Dealing with Scary Thoughts

Okay i am feeling a bit scared about Dying I never really thought about till my eleventh birthday And i really need some advice – Anonymous      This is a really big, serious topic, but I want to try to tackle it because I know I would have appreciated it when I was younger. As a younger child, I’d sometimes have trouble falling asleep, and with all that empty time for my mind to wander, I always found it drifting towards death. Before I give any advice, I just want to say that I’m really…

How to Talk to Your Crush

I have a crush on somebody, and I really like them. I want to tell them that I have a crush on them, but I’m worried they won’t like me back and I won’t even be able to be friends with them. What should I do? -Anonymous Your not alone anon, that’s a fear everyone has when they have crush- and it makes sense! Your admiting your personal feelings to another person, being scared of rejection is completely understandable. First of all, if you’re not already friends with this person, try becoming…

Ask A Girl: Need advice? Give great advice? We help each other! Ask your questions or answer any of the questions already here. Your post will appear in a day or two, so check back often. We've had many girls ask if their questions can be anonymous, and that is not possible on this website. We want you to know that girls in NMG can trust each other, even with embarrassing questions. And if you want to, you can change your user name to a "not real" name that will then also be used in the magazine if your Ask A Girl question is published.

Letters To Luna: I'm Luna, the spirit of New Moon. Write a letter to me with your opinions and suggestions about the magazine and website. I love to read all your notes! Because I get so many letters, I can't reply online. But a select few letters get published in each issue!

Body & Feelings: Body image, mood swings, puberty, your first period, and so much more! The information girls need!

Check It Out: Share your rants and raves about books, magazines, movies, products, music, ads, tv, internet and more. Love it? Hate it? Let us know!

For The Curious: How does stuff in our world happen? Post and ask about experiments, tech, coding, math,  science, engineering, and more!  It's all about the weird, wonderful, and wacky! Be curious and be surprised.

Go Girls & Women Change the World: Amazing girls and women make the world a better place every day. Tell us about who you admire - now and from the past.  These don't have to be people who are already famous!

How Aggravating & Howl at the Moon: Tell us when you see something that's unfair to girls and women -you can vent about it here! And, Howl out your accomplishments and the things that make you proud as a person and a girl!

Love Remembers: Whether it's losing a beloved pet or a cherished person, loss is painful and can be difficult to cope with. But talking about our loved ones and keeping their memories alive can help. Share your beautiful memories here.

Random Stuff: Want a place to be silly, start message board games, or talk about stuff that doesn't fit into the other categories? Then check out this message board!

Role Play: Do you like role playing games? RPG’s are games where players (that’s you!) play the roles of characters in a fictional setting and have all kinds of adventures. See where the stories take you!

Voice Box: We can have different opinions and still be friends and listen respectfully to each other. We're interested to learn about other people's points of view and we don't have to try to convince them to think like we do. This is where we share opinions about issues that are important to us.

Contests & Games: Do you love creating new contests or games for everyone to play? Do you love playing in them? This is the place for you to make your own contests and games and invite everyone to participate! Remember, just like everywhere else on NMGMembers.com, if you make a contest or game, it must be open to everyone who wants to join in!
